There are going to be some changes to the site going forward. As you can see there is a new logo and some minor changes in layout, but the major changes will be to the content.
The Forums, which never really worked properly and were never used, will be shutting the doors on 1st May 2024. Also going away on the same date will be the Diablo II section of the site, which no longer fits with the overall theme and focus going forward.
Coming in, however, will be new content to replace that section. While the Coin Club History continues to be added to day by day, currently up to May of 1993, there will be a brand new section to the site all about the coins themselves. Featuring articles about history, image galleries, and lots of fascinating facts about English and UK coins, I hope to begin putting up new content early in May!

On the content front, I must apologise for the severe lack of newsletters. I have not been able to work on those for several months due to various circumstances and I hope I may be able to replace them with content from the YouTube channel.

Today, 5th September 2023, the anniversary of its original founding, The BLS Coin Collectors Club is officially reopen for business. As an online numismatics society we are intended to be a global organisation open to anybody over 18 who wishes to join.
Founded in September 1991, The BLS Coin Collectors Club has as its primary mission the goal of bringing together coin collectors and numismatists from all over the world to discuss the hobby and related (or unrelated) topics, share fellowship, and engage in trade. Please feel free to submit a Membership Application to join the Coin Club itself, and also please join the Forums where you can meet fellow hobbyists!

In other news, I am slowly adapting the old extant pages to the new site design and fixing broken links within those pages.
I am coming back. This site and this blog have been neglected far too long - almost five years since the last new design and over a year and a half since the move to the new domain. The Forums are fully up and running and the site will have a brand new focus to it. The existing Diablo II stories will be staying but all the other (unfinished) content will be out. Instead, this site is now proud to announce itself as home to The BLS Coin Collectors Club and its long and storied history. As soon as the appropriate pages are up, the Coin Club will be open for business for the first time since the mid 1990s!
All is REALLY new this time. The entire site is going to be retooled to become the hub of the new BLS Coin Collectors Club. Gone will be the Quake and Gemstone pages (never finished anyway); the SweetSpearGirl stories will remain but will no longer be a major focus. This will be the new Coin Club site and its new design will reflect that. Hail the BLS Coin Collectors Club!

Everything from hard drive problems to real life concerns kept us away but now we have returned and new content will be on the way soon, including a brand new Spearazon story and some other games being featured too!
No Forums yet, but they will be forthcoming so watch this space!
Well, the best laid plans, as they say. A hard drive crash has forced me to reconsider said plans, thanks to the fact of losing much of the formerly unpublished SweetSpearGirl material that was going to make up the 'Snippets' section of the site. Also lost are a great many screenshots and other files related to Gemstone. Some of these can be recreated; others will have to wait until professonals have examined the broken drive. This will delay certain sections of the site from coming online.
In the meantime however, enjoy the Forums!
Three months late, the update and recoding of SweetSpearGirl's Return is complete. New sections and dialogue have been added to each chapter. They are complete with all navigation and design features of the new site and all the original images are present.

The site now features, fully updated and re-coded, all sixteen chapters of SweetSpearGirl's original Adventures. Most of the chapters have also been tweaked and many have had new dialogue added. The Imperium - formerly The Dominion, among many other names - has a long history. The site, first designed in early 2003 to host the very first SweetSpearGirl stories, began life as a simple Diablo II themed website written in vanilla HTML, featuring no styling or real site design. (In fact, the very first iteration of the site, incomplete but featuring nine chapters of SweetSpearGirl's first story is still available at Angelfire.) Over the years it evolved somewhat but has never undergone as significant a redesign as it is getting now.
The purpose of the new design is not only to make the site look better but to make it easier to navigate and to expand as more content is added.
While the initial code tests for the new design were in place about a year ago, significant progress was not made until now due to various "real life" concerns.
Currently no content is accessible on the new site. This is due to the need to first thoroughly test the new design to ensure it works. Content will begin to be added over the next few days as each page is recoded and tested.
When complete, the site will feature not only the SweetSpearGirl stories in all their complete glory, but full information on the Gemstone mod and a fully functional forum for lovers of Diablo II and SweetSpearGirl.
